TABLE EXTENSIONS

A session of massage therapy can be made comfortable by not only providing the best techniques in relaxing the body but by also providing various accessories that create the perfect ambience for satisfying results. Various table accessories provide the much needed comfort that a massage therapy must provide during a session. Such accessories include: Head Rests, Armrests, Food rests, Side extensions, Bolsters, Reflexology Stools, Table Warmers etc. Each of these table accessories provides a unique benefit in comforting and relaxing the person.

What are Table Extensions?

Table extensions add width to a massage table for additional comfort and support. The most widely available models of table extensions are the detachable ones which can be added to the main table as and when required.

The table extensions are popularly used by therapists to provide ease and comfort.

Two types of table extensions

The Table End Extension: It is a padded plate that can be mounted on to the end of the table.

 

The key benefits of Table End Extension are:

- An End Extension is designed to add an extra 10" of working surface to the table used for massage sessions.
- The Table End Extension is available with or without a face rest hole.
- Beneficial for clients taller than average height.

 

The Side Extension: It adds about 6" of width to the table to enable the client's arms to rest comfortably.

 

The key benefits of Side Extention are:
- Side Extensions are the perfect problem solutions incase of a narrow table as it saves weight, improves portability and increases access to the client from the side.
- Variations include sliding arm extensions to provide width to existing tables wherever required and swivel arm extensions that can provide arm rest in sitting position.

 

Both these extensions provide flexibility. Both are detachable and can be used whenever required. Most often these accessories are provided free with massage tables.
