MLD is noninvasive, painless, manual technique used to treat the conditions such as lymph edema, neuromuscular disorders, sinus congestions, headaches and acne by draining excess fluid from the tissues and has detoxifying effect. When the lymph is not drained properly cells cannot receive nourishment, may be exposed to toxins and can result in some sort of disease.
The pressure used in MLD massage depends on two factors, the pathologic tissue condition being treated and the type of tissue being treated.
Unlike Manual Lymph Drainage does not use sheets and oils, only had to skin contact is required for it to be effective. The therapist performing MLD applies very light touch to the skin’s surface over the areas with lymph nodes on the body and face.
MLD technique is very relaxing.
